January 2026 Press Release 3
(DEKALB COUNTY, GA) — We strongly oppose the ongoing use of aggressive and dangerous policing tactics by ICE and law enforcement agencies across the country. These tactics have resulted in unnecessary shootings, loss of life, and lasting trauma in our communities.
The recent incident in Minneapolis highlights what communities have been saying for years: ICE operations often make situations worse, put civilians at risk, and operate without real accountability. This issue goes beyond one officer or one city; it involves a system that normalizes force, avoids scrutiny, and treats immigrant communities as disposable.
Public safety cannot thrive where fear is the policy and violence is the usual response. A government that says it protects people must meet that standard every time. We demand transparency, independent investigations, and real consequences when federal agencies endanger lives.
Communities deserve safety without surveillance, dignity without fear, and justice without delay.

September 2025 Press Release 2
(DEKALB COUNTY, GA) - The Young Democrats of Dekalb express deep anger and sadness over the recent lynching of Demartravion “Trey” Reed and Corey Zukatis.
These acts of racial and political violence remind us that injustice still threatens the safety and dignity of our communities.
We call on local, state, and federal authorities to conduct quick and thorough investigations. Perpetrators must be held accountable, and steps must be taken to prevent such acts in the future. We stand with the families, friends, and communities affected. We reaffirm our commitment to justice, fairness, and the protection of all citizens’ rights.
The Young Democrats of Dekalb urge everyone to reject hatred, support the rule of law, and join us in pushing for a safer, more just society.
